Improving Type K Thermocouple Accuracy for ETI: From ±1.5°C to ±1.1°C
Over the past two years, we have supplied customized K-Type thermocouple probes with ceramic housings to Electronic Temperature Instruments (ETI) Ltd., UK, for surface temperature measurement applications.
The probes have consistently provided a measurement accuracy of around ±1.5°C. Recently, ETI asked us whether we could improve the accuracy to ±1.1°C.
To meet this requirement, our team looked for a supplier capable of providing higher-accuracy K-Type thermocouple wire. After evaluating the material, we purchased the new wire and produced seven prototype samples for testing.
We then carried out detailed temperature tests using our own testing equipment. Each test result was carefully recorded, including the handwritten test records shown in the photo.

The test results were encouraging. The samples achieved an accuracy of approximately ±1.1°C, with some measurements reaching around ±1.0°C.
This project demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement and customized temperature sensor development. When a customer has a higher technical requirement, we actively look for practical solutions and verify them through testing.
Improving product quality and helping our customers achieve better performance is one of our key goals.
